Former Red Rockers keyboardist and CBS recording artists, Gary Attardo has formed St. Roch Records, a New Orleans-based label, established in 1994. Gary Attardo will serve as President of St. Roch Records. His tenure as an active musician on recordings and touring for Red Rockers, included shows on U.S. road dates with U2, The Go Go's, Men at Work and the English Beat (or the Beat depending on which side of the Atlantic you hail from), and was earlier a member of the popular New Orleans Bands White Tiger and The Models. Those groups held a residency slot in some of New Orlean's top clubs and concerts."I know and understand the frustrations of an artist trying to get their music heard", Attardo explains. "With St. Roch we will be hearing and releasing all sorts of music, and even though I respect the heritage of New Orleans and the rich music scene of this city, we will be producing a lot of non-roots music, as well as the new music from around the world." |

Kim Fowley, a veteran music industry producer, will serve as the label's Director/Creative Services, A&R. Kim scouted, discovered, and produced three St. Roch artists; Radio Sweethearts, Virago, and Blowtorch. Radio Sweethearts are based in Scotland, Virago, Blowtorch, and Noisecandy hail from New Orleans. "We're interested in Anything and Everything that we belive can be marketed", Fowley acknowledges. "In New Orleans there are specialty labels that handle classic roots music and the sounds of blues, cajun, zydeco, jazz, gospel, and R&B." |
